Si è svolta presso il Beverly Hilton Hotel di Los Angeles la tanto attesa cerimonia di premiazione della 72esima edizione dei Golden Globe Awards, i premi assegnati dall’Hollywood Foreign Press Association, l’organizzazione di giornalisti che rappresentano l’industria cinematografica USA sui media esteri.
Un grande trionfo la scorsa notte per “The Revenant”, di Alejandro G. Inarritu, premiato nelle categorie Miglior Film Drammatico, Miglior Regia e Miglior Attore Protagonista a Leonardo DiCaprio.
Si è distinto invece nella categoria comedy “The Martian”, di Ridley Scott, nelle sezioni Miglior Film e Miglior Attore Protagonista a Matt Damon.
A conquistare il premio come Miglior Attrici Protagoniste – rispettivamente nelle categorie Film Drammatico e Commedia – sono state invece le giovani Brie Larson e Jennifer Lawrence per i film “Room” di Lenny Abrahamson e “Joy” di David O. Russell.
Mentre “Steve Jobs” di Danny Boyle si è aggiudicato il titolo di Miglior Sceneggiatura ad Aaron Sorkin, “The Hateful Eight” di Quentin Tarantino è stato premiato come Miglior Colonna Sonora ad Ennio Morricone.
Nel corso della serata – condotta dal comico britannico Ricky Gervais – è stato inoltre consegnato il premio speciale Cecil B. DeMille all’attore statunitense Denzel Washington per onorare la sua celebre filmografia

Henson (Empire) e Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex Girlfriend) hanno trionfato nelle medesime categorie al femminile. Ma a stupire tutti è stata sicuramente l’inarrestabile Lady Gaga che, dopo aver conquistato il mondo con la sua musica, si è piazzata anche tra i vincitori del piccolo schermo come Miglior Attrice in un film per la tv o miniserie per il suo ruolo in “America Horror Story – Hotel”.
